First Times A Charm


This is Emma Green and she is 17 years old.  She was adopted when she was nine from Ethiopia.  I got the chance to interview this amazing person for my first blog and these where her answers........


Q1)Is there anything you miss from your country?
A)Yes, I miss being away from my siblings.

Q2)What was the hardest part about leaving your country?
A)The hardest part about leaving my country was knowing that I was leaving my siblings behind and being afraid I was never going to see them again.

Q3)Did you have any friends in the orphanage?
A)Yes.

Q4)What feelings did you first found out you where getting a family?
A)When I first found out I was getting a family I was very nervous.

Q5)What do you think is the strangest thing we do in the USA compared to your country?
A)The strangest thing is probably the weather because I’d never seen snow before and the weather dropped like crazy.

Q6)What was your first impression of your new family?
A)I was definitely very shy and very lost because I couldn’t understand their language.

Q7)What do you have here in America that you couldn’t live without back in your country?
A)I couldn’t live without my medical or education.

Q8)What was your thoughts when you first walked into your house?
A)I was definitely amazed.

Q9)How have your dreams changed over time?
A)They’ve changed and now I just feel like I could do more than just be a pilot.

We are in the process of adopting a little boy who will probably be 4 by the time we get him (Abraham on RR), and it's great learning about adoption from a kid's point of view!
